Rhodes DanceSport Club Awards.

We gave our first award in 2011 and are happy to be building on that list every year

RU DanceSport 1st Team

The Rhodes DanceSport 1st team is selected in retrospect based on the performance of dancers throughout the year. In order to make the 1st team a dancer will have needed to be selected and have competed in either the USSA or InterVaristy Team as well as 75% of the selected FEDANSA federation matches around South Africa. The 2013 team was the first time we were able to select a 1st Team for DanceSport as we officially become a fully fledged sports club.

RU DanceSport USSA Team

The Rhodes DanceSport USSA team is selected from the best performing couples that have competed in regional, provincial and national FEDANSA federation competitions around South Africa. Couples are then invited to become part of the USSA team and undergo extensive training and workshops where the team is further categorised into Individual Section Couples, Team Match Couples and the Formation Team. The 2013 team was the first time we were able to send couples to USSA and we only entered couples into Individual Sections as we didn't have the required 10 couples. In 2014 we entered both the Team Match and Individual sections and in 2015 to take part in all sections including Formation.
